This new version of DALL E is in research preview and will be available for ChatGPT Plus customers and Enterprise customers via the API in October 2023 and in Labs in the fall of 2023. However, for now DALL E 3 is available on bing image generator.

What is Midjourney?

Midjourney is an AI art tool that is accessible to millions of users via a Discord server. Upon inputting a sentence, the AI is able to generate the first thumbnails in a short amount of time. Additionally, Midjourney is equipped with commands and parameters that can be used to modify the process and its parameters, such as the model version, the size of the image, the aspect ratio, the weight of the image, and the style etc., as well as the upload of the user’s own images onto the Discord server can be used as input for the application.

Midjourney requires a subscription plan to access its features. There are four plans available: Basic ($10/month), Standard ($30/month), Pro ($60/month), and Mega ($120/month). Each plan offers different features.

How do they compare?

Both DALL E 3 and Midjourney are impressive AI image generators that can produce stunning results from text prompts. However, they also have some differences in terms of performance, accessibility, safety, and creativity.

Performance

DALL E 3 can embed content inside created pictures in a clean and normal way, making it reasonable for applications that require exact content rendering like infographics and comics. Midjourney can insert content inside pictures too, but it regularly shows up distorted or wrong.
